New CEO For CCM

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 (Bernama) -- Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal Tuesday announced the appointment of Encik Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Companies Commission of Malaysia, effective Nov 1.

Encik Abdul Karim is taking over the post from Encik Abdul Alim Abdullah who was appointed Judicial Commissioner for the High Court of Malaya on Sept 1, a statement from CCM said here today.

Encik Abdul Karim began his career on Aug 1, 1983 as Deputy Public Prosecutor with the Attorney General Office.

Numerous promotions followed Encik Abdul Karim who has served in various departments and capacities including as Senior Federal Counsel at the Inland Revenue Board, and Sessions Court Judge in Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur and Melaka.

In November 2000, he headed the Appeals Unit, Prosecution Division Attorney General Office. He was then appointed as Director of Enforcement Division in the Securities Commission before being made Director of Legal and Prosecution Division, Anti-Corruption Agency.
